Little Miss Flowers were ready to take their business online. They needed a system that internal staff could easy manage, including uploading new products and managing inventory.

Little Miss Flowers also needed a system that had pickup and delivery functionality, so customers could select their preferred pickup or delivery time/date when placing an order. 

The approach

Using our web builder Ariba, we designed an ecommerce website for Little Miss Flowers. This system gives us more design flexibility than other ecommerce solutions, so we were able to apply Little Miss Flower’s brand in a unique way throughout the site. 

One of the challenges customers face when ordering flowers online is the confusion about where to put your own details as the orderer, versus where to put the flower receiver's details. To solve this problem, we mapped out and tested an ordering process to ensure that it’s clear to the customer, and that Little Miss Flowers collects the info they require. This also involved our developers adding custom code to the site to change labels in the checkout process. 

When configuring the pickup and delivery settings, we added a date picker at checkout so the customer could select their delivery date. This is easy for Little Miss Flowers to manage by simply toggling on and off certain days or updating times. There’s also an option to ‘blackout’ days the store is closed, for example over Christmas. 

We also set a cut off time for same day deliveries, and a minimum fulfilment time for pick up orders. Using geofencing, we set specific delivery rates for different locations in the Top End.

The result is an ecommerce website with a smooth user experience for the customer and easy management for Little Miss Flowers.
