AI Workshop Activity
The purpose of this activity is to set up your AI to understand your business. Think of it as “feeding the AI” with the knowledge it needs to deliver the best results.
You can use any AI tool you prefer (free or paid).
Step 1. Create Your Business or Organisational Plan
- Download the below business plan template.
Are you an organisation?
Use this template instead.
2. Open ChatGPT (or your chosen tool) and drag the downloaded template into the chat window.
3. Copy and paste the prompt below into the chat, then press Enter.
Prompt:
Attached is a template I need to complete.
Please assist me in completing it by:
- Using any knowledge you have about me, including visiting my website (insert your web address here).
- Asking me clarifying questions where necessary.
- Providing paragraph-length answers in a professional and persuasive business tone.
- Structuring responses according to the sections/questions in the template.
- Once complete, presenting the final version formatted for export as a Microsoft Word document.
💡 What happens next: The AI may ask clarifying questions. Copy the questions into the chat, type your answers.

Don’t worry about spelling or formatting — this is a quick exercise.
Step 2. Run a Competitor Analysis
Once your plan is complete, it’s time to undertake a competitor analysis. This process may take the software up to 30 minutes (don't worry you can be doing something else while it does it's thinking).
Copy and paste the prompt below into the chat, and select Deep Research (or Deep thinking) - see screenshot below.
Prompt:
Please refer to the above information about my business. Using this context, conduct a deep competitor analysis:
- Identify major national competitors.
- List their strengths, weaknesses, marketing strategies, customer experience, pricing models, and positioning.
- Highlight where potential opportunities lie for us to strengthen our competitive edge.
Step 3. Develop Marketing Personas
Finally, within the same chat ask your AI tool to generate four marketing personas for your business or organisation.

Prompt:
Based on the information above please generate four marketing personas.
Each persona should include:
- Demographics and role (who they are)
- Key pain points (their problems and frustrations)
- How your business/organisation can respond to those pain points

By completing this homework, you’ll have a business plan, a competitor analysis, and customer personas ready for the next activity in the workshop.
