It's part of Captovate’s core business to successfully manage multiple clients with competing timelines and project requirements. Captovate’s management team has extensive experience in managing discreet deliverables while maintaining a big picture view on budgets, business objectives and strategic directions.
Our lead project manager has formal qualifications in IT Project Management, and utilises sophisticated time management software to track and prioritise jobs and tasks within multiple concurrent projects. This streamlined process means administration is kept to a minimum and the focus is on the project and its deliverables.
Stages of a Website Development
The most important thing you should know about our carefully devised and tested development process is: It's not set in stone. We're a flexible bunch at Captovate, and we work with you to keep projects on track no matter what crops up. But in an ideal world, this is what the average website development might look like:
1. Planning and Information Architecture
- Make sure we're all clear on your brief for the project
- Confirm the proposed information architecture
- Collect all your branding and assets such as images
2. Creative Web Design
- Provide two different creative visual designs. You give feedback on what you like
- Receive sign off on a final design before moving to step three
3. Prepare Website Content
- Receive web content ready to go from client, or complete copy writing or copy editing if we are doing this
- Check web content for Search Engine Optimisation
4. Website Build
- Develop the HTML and CSS to customise the Content Management System
- Populate the content into the website
5. Quality Assurance
- Undertake full quality assurance process to make sure the site is working like it should. Test for usability & accessibility.
- Receive final sign off on the site in situ before 'go live'
6. Implementation and Testing
- Upload Website into 'live' server environment
- Undertake all live validations and testing. Make sure all pages load and links work
- Hey Presto! Your website is now alive!
7. Training
- Provide training so you are competent in updating web content, creating new pages and generally maintaining the site (The whole training session takes an hour - it's THAT easy).
- Supply PDF and hard copy versions of our easy to follow CMS quick start guide (lots of pictures!)
