Kerry’s Automotive Group website
Captovate designed a new corporate brand for Kerry's Automotive Group, one of Darwin's largest car dealerships, and from this we designed and developed their new website.
Purpose
The purpose of the Kerry’s website is to promote and inform customers and potential customers on the range of Kerry’s services and the vehicles they sell. In particular, customers are able to search Kerry’s range of used cars online, and can make enquiries online.
Objectives
Kerry’s had some very specific objectives for this site development.
Firstly, they wanted to incorporate a used car search engine that works much like other major Australian used car sales websites, but is completely independent (controlled by Kerry’s) and does not cost the earth to be a part of.
Second, Kerry’s wanted to develop and portray their own distinctive look and feel, rather than relying on the branding of some of their major car brands, yet these national and international brands still needed to be displayed on the site.
In addition, the site had to be simple, efficient and easy to use.
Special Features
The hand built used car search function is the key special feature on the Kerry’s website.
The dynamic slider on the home page is another pretty impressive feature of the site, lending to the glossy, sophisticated look and feel we were going for.
Customised web forms are provided across the site to drive enquiries in key service areas such as service bookings and spare parts enquiries, as well as for enquiries about each car in the used car search.
Technical Features
Captovate developed the Kerry’s website in a fully customised implementation of the Drupal Content Management System, including around 12 configured modules.
The used car search functionality was hand built, which pushed Drupal to the edge in terms of design and layout, resulting in a function that was both simple to view and navigate for the user and extremely easy to update for the client.
The site is hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) for improved bandwidth, space and security
